The City of Phoenix now has a free prescription card that is open to the entire public. The card is available at the 3 Family Service Centers;

For their numbers and location you can call CIR at 602.263.8856 and ask for the closets Family Service Center to you.

The card saves you up to 65% off brand name and generic prescriptions, it works in over 59,000 Pharmacies, with no fees and one card is good for the entire family. You can even use it to fill pet prescriptions. The card even has discounts on lab and imagining tests.

Free FamilyWize Prescription Drug Discount Card

United Way has partnered with FamilyWize to offer a reduced cost for medicine by 30% or more. This Prescription Drug Discount Card covers all prescription drugs, there is no age, income, or residency restrictions, anyone can use it. The discount card is accepted nationwide by most pharmacies. You can use it as often as you need. You don’t even need the card just write down the following information and show it to the pharmacy to see your discount.

Prescription Drug Patient Assistance Programs

I found a website that helps people take advantage of Prescription Drug Assistance programs. If you've heard drug commercials say "if you can't afford our medicine write to us to see if you qualify for assistance" well RxAssist will let you search a database of applications to receive assistance.

You can search by Drug Name or by Drug Company find what you're looking for and print out the application. You'll need to include what ever extra documentation they need and then you can mail away for a couple of months worth of most prescription drugs.
