Spherion will be hiring Customer Service Representative for their Call Center located off the I-17 and Peoria at 2124 W. Cheryle Dr. They are offering $11.50 an hour and $12.50 after 2 week training with a $1.00/hr for shift differential

The Goodwill of Central Arizona is hosting a job fair on December 15 at the Goodwill Career Center in Peoria at 6750 W. Peoria Ave. The fair will feature local employers looking to hire in various industries including retail, human services, general labor and warehouse.

The event is free and open to the public. Job seekers should dress professionally, bring copies of their resume and be prepared to speak with recruiters looking to fill various open positions.

The fair will be December 15, 2011 from 10 AM to 12 PM

Project Connect Event

---

This months Project Connect event will happen in Mesa on Thursday December 15th from 7am to 4pm at the City of Grace church located at 655 E. University Dr Mesa 85203. Located between Mesa Dr. and Horne on the south side of University. If you’re traveling by bus look for look for route 30 on University.

For those who have not been to a Project Connect Event you can look forward to siting down with over 30 different human service providers that are ready to help you find housing and employment resources. Along with access to food stamps and important paper work like your Id and birth certificate. You can also find many free resources like hot meals, showers, clothes and bus passes.

Misdemeanor Warrants

This week police will be serving outstanding misdemeanor warrants. If you have any misdemeanor offenses you should look into ways to deal with them.

You can go about this two ways;

Turn yourself in any time this week from December 5th to the 9th from 8am to 4:30 at the Cordova Phoenix Municipal Court at 300 W. Washington St. with an id and payment to avoid most jail time.

Or you can sign up for the Homeless Court through one of 16 different programs offered at many of the major Human Service Providers like CASS, Community Bridges, Salvation Army, the VA and many others. If your misdemeanor qualifies for the program you can count time you spent with the agency as hours against any community service time they sentence you.

Meet face-to-face with a local employer looking to hire in various maintenance positions. Goodwill of Central Arizona is hosting a hiring event on November 21st at their Career Center located, 515 N. 51st Ave., Phoenix.

The event is free and open to the public. Job seekers should dress professionally, bring copies of their resume and be prepared to interview with recruiters.

The recruitment Event will take place from 10am to 12noon. Show up half and hour early to get paper work filled out before everyone else.

Open Works is the local employer and they will be hiring for Janitors and Custodians on-site. Bring two forms of ID. Be prepared for Pre-Employment Screening which will include a drug test and background check looking for misdemeanors. Open Works is offering $8.50/hr for 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Thanksgiving Dinners

As always the Wyndham Hotel in downtown Phoenix will be serving Thanksgiving dinner from 11am to 1pm on Thursday November 24th Thanksgiving day. They are located at 50 E. Adams between Central and 1st Ave.

For the East Valley the Chandler Community Center will be serving Thanksgiving dinner from 10;30am to 1pm on Thursday November 24th Thanksgiving day. They are located at 125 E Commonwealth. For those taking the Bus you’re looking for Route 156.

As of right now I only have a phone number as a referral to Thanksgiving dinners on the West Valley. Please call the Agua Fria Food Bank at 623.932.9135 for questions about their holiday meals.

If you would like a Thanksgiving Food box you can visit the Arizona State Fair Grounds Tuesday the 22nd from 7am to 6pm. They are located at 1826 W. McDowell Rd just east of 19th Ave. If you are taking the bus look for Routes 17 or 19. Please bring an id to pick up a Thanksgiving food box
